Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
A major part of the assignment will involve examining how the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and related rules are being implemented in UNICEF-supported states. The consultant will identify gaps and emerging trends and contribute recommendations that can help improve policy and practice.
The role also covers research and policy discussions around child online protection. This includes issues such as children’s access to social media, platform accountability, reporting systems, and new digital and AI-related risks. Eligibility & Qualifications
The position requires a Master’s degree in social sciences or another relevant field. Candidates must also have at least eight years of professional experience in child protection, specifically involving justice, Ending Violence Against Children, and disability inclusion work.
Knowledge of juvenile justice and key child protection legislation is mandatory. Experience with research, monitoring, and participatory learning methodologies is preferred. Applicants should also have experience preparing reports and evidence-based documentation for donor reporting, as well as experience working with government or UN agencies.
English and Hindi are required, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of additional Indian regional languages is considered an asset.
